Update 7/31/2010
Jesse Divnich predicts that next month's E3 Expo in LA will be the venue Rockstar chooses to officially announce their next-gen sequel Grand Theft Auto V. With the game widely rumored to be a return to the beloved San Andreas setting, they could be onto something here.
I think were going to hear about another Grand Theft Auto... I think there won't be any playable stuff... I think theyll give you some type of teaser, because we do think that a year from then in 2011 were going to see another Grand Theft Auto [released]. I don't foresee Microsoft or Sony attempting to obtain any type of exclusivity with the next Grand Theft Auto, he outlined. Microsoft paid a lot of money for exclusivity on the downloadable content for GTA IV, which unfortunately did little to move consoles for Microsoft.

Update 5/4/2010
ElectricPig.co.uk is up-front about what all the reviewers have been saying: The Ballad of Gay Tony, the second expansion to GTA IV and one half of the 'Episodes From' bundle now available for XBox 360, PS3 and PC, is the best part of GTA IV, and brings the big missing piece back into the franchise: FUN. The Pig's review is spot-on, as usual.
Update 5/4/2010
'Episodes from Liberty City' arrives today. The game is a single-pack pair of GTA IV spinoffs, The Ballad of Gay Tony and The Lost and Damned (previously availabel as DLC only for XBox 360) which come complete with the GTA IV engine and assets: the original GTA IV game is not required, though the games do integrate pretty seamlessly if you happen to have GTA IV already -- and who doesn't?
Update 3/30/2010
It took the better part of a year, but the expansion add-ons for GTA IV will both be shipping for PC and PS3 players early in the new year, according to a Rockstar announcement today.
Update 12/28/2009
The first (and only?) downloadable expansion for Grand Theft Auto IV is finally out. You can download The Lost and the Damned for XBox360 (only) starting today.

Update 10/19/2008
First it was summer. Then it was autumn. For a long sad moment it was 'sometime in 2009'. But now, finally, GTA IV's Xbox 360 exclusive extras look like they're in line for a November release.
Update 7/28/2008
Rockstar today released the first wide-release patch for GTA 4 (Sony's self-induced system update doesn't count). The update, for both XBox 360 and PS3, claims to correct almost a dozen bugs in online play and improve performance. Some of the highlights of the update follow...
